“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
— Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
This Means
Your heart is the source of everything:
your decisions, your emotions, your peace, your pain.
When your heart is neglected, overextended, or constantly wounded, it affects your entire life.
How you love.
How you trust.
How you see yourself.
Keeping your heart doesn’t mean closing it off.
It means being honest about what’s harming it.
It means recognizing when love is costing you more than it’s giving.
The word diligence means intentionally.
Carefully.
Consistently.
This scripture reminds me that protecting my heart is my responsibility.
Not everyone deserves access to it.
Not everyone will handle it with care.
Sometimes keeping your heart means letting go.
Sometimes it means choosing peace over attachment.
And sometimes it means walking away from love that hurts more than it heals.
&& That’s not selfish!!
